space of grace • intentional relationships • relevant truth
Nationally, Laundry of Love is an initiative of JustOne – which seeks to create a JustOne World.
Locally, the Red Oak Laundry Love People (LLP) is an outreach to the community of Red Oak/Glenn Heights, Texas to help those who are struggling financially by assisting them with doing their laundry. We hope to build relationships and become a small community of common concern in which participants often find that they receive assistance and benefit with other areas of their lives.
The idea is simple. Each month a few of us head down to a local laundromat with quarters and detergent in hand. In an effort to care for and build relationships with working-poor families in our neighborhood, we wash their clothes. For two hours we welcome those who come with open arms and help them by paying for their laundry.
Our goal is to offer free laundry for all in need, at least once a month, at a local Red Oak Laundry Mat.
As we begin, our plan is to offer laundry assistance on the last Saturday of the month, for two hours (from 6 to 8 p.m.) for all we can possibly help.
We invite you to join us, either by sponsoring the event financially or by donating laundry detergent, snacks for participants etc.

Hello world!
What is Laundry Love?
Why Laundry Love?
——————————————————————————————————————————–
For those living below the poverty line, washing clothes presents both a logistical problem and a financial hardship. From a conversation with a local homeless friend who conveyed this basic need, the Laundry Love People™ (LLP) was birthed.
Laundry Love People partner with local laundromats in cleaning the clothes of those living in shelters, motels, cars, garages and on the streets. It is our mission to take laundromats and convert them into hubs of relief, granting reprieve to those living in oppressive poverty through aid in education, basic medical care and assistance in job and housing placement.
Both LLP and Trashcan Can Make a Difference are open source, which allows us to assist others to start these localized efforts for the “one” throughout the US.

I like it !!!
Something I have felt needs to be done for a long time. Great project
